Yeah...my little man is sick :( I can't deny that I knew it was coming. He started coughing a few days ago and I knew. He woke up this morning with puffy, crusty eyes and a runny nose. Oh man...I feel so bad. Especially when I went to wash his face and he told me it made his eyes sting. I know that feeling and it's no fun. But on a good note, his disposition is fantastic so yeah...I had to call the school and let them know they will be missing their most favorite student today

Now this is WAY different from what I'm used to doing. But It was a pretty fun ride. I used this picture


I was playing with making masks and used it to make the picture look all splattery like this

(shoot, it looks good just like that hu? lol) The one thing I was surprised that I did was use a dark paper for the backround (by Amy H. over at A5D). I almost never do that. At least the way I did it here. So when all is said and done I look at this layout and I can see myself in it. On the other hand it looks like someone else did it. Does that make sense? ^_^ Kody had given me a dandilion and says "This is for you mom." Just like he did here

So yeah...I'm about to get warm and cuddle with the kids. If they'll let me that is :) I hope your Spring is going swell guys

right about now

1.) I have some chores to do still before bed. I can't rest in peace until I do them. Part of my newly upturned leaf.

2.) I finished a freelance project. No stress = satisfying outcome. I just was uncomfortable the whole time doing it...oi!

3.) My Brother-in-law is a nut! All up on my Facebook....

4.) I really want to take a shower.

5.) Did you hear Adam on American Idol? I mean honestly...why even continue the show? He's something special that's for sure.

6.) DerRick and I have a wired tension between us. Like we are pleasent towards oneanother but we aren't really speaking. Well, that will change when I battle him in Street Fighter tonight. (AFTER I take a shower though)

7.) I'm really inspired by color. Color is like so pretty. Ok...I sound like a two year old. But look out for me to start something.

8.) I must be way late to catch the Cathy Z. train. She is a star. Never thought anyone could have 50 comments when they only type three words on Facebook...awesome! I wonder what she eats or breakfast :)

9.) My boy is sick :(

Man...this past weekend was just so beautiful and so fun! We all went out back to the backyard and played with the presents Kody got for his birthday.

He was all business and then he let loose. Started bustin' out some tricks. He definitely has my genes lol!!!

So yes, that was fun. And later we went to the public library for the first time. It had this tree house thingie in there. It was neat. Kody asked me where we were going at first. I told him a magical place. And then when we walked in he said "This isn't a magical place." I said "Oh yes it is, the magic is in the books. You're young yet...you'll see." Then his mouth fell open for a couple seconds. Yeah...he'll see alright :) So as the kids played DerRick and I found the jackpot! A big ol' stash of Where's Waldo books! It was on then. We both got the same one raced each other to see who could find everything first, page-by-page. I smoked him ^_^

I was like what? How sweet of her, like really :) So that got me all pumped lol! And I knew that I had finished a kit. A pretty small one for a digital contest called So You Think You Can Scrap? I'm with week five but I thought I would show you a layout I did with some of the kit I made.

 

Now the contest is already on the way. It's into week three. Leave it to me to be late. But if you like any of the kits then stop by A5D! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous day outside all day! And Kody's birthday party happened to fall right on it. He had a wonderful time and so did the girls. I was a bit nervous about hosting it because it's his first 'real' one with his classmates coming. I think as a parent of the birthday child you want his or her friends to have a good time and for things to run smoothly. It went great and I think the cake was a huge hit with everyone. I'm telling you it was so freakin' good!!! It was one of those ice cream cakes form Baskin Robins. One little girl had three pieces! But the strange thing was she had asked me for seconds and thirds when her mom wasn't around lol! So yeah....here are some pics from today.

So it goes without saying. When you have a bun, or two, in the oven you will be exploring the internet a bit more than you would usually do. Now lets be honest...these are my fourth and fifth children and so I have quite a bit more sense now compaired to when Kody was born. You know how it is...you want the play pen, the rocker, the bouncy, the play mat, the swing, the jumper, bumper AND rumper....anything that has a picture of a baby smiling in it you think you must have. I still won't forgive myself for getting a baby wipe warmer! I mean come on. Well, I'm pretty practical this time around after having three and know what really works for us. I do, however, put everything into a need and would love to have if I could convince myself I need it category. I'd like to show you some things that caught my eye that I just love for one reason or many...

I've been itching to get into sewing but was at a loss as to where to get some really neat fabric. Let alone learn how to use it :) I'm really inspired by Sandrine. She can work some fabric and she led me to a couple of really neat sites.

sweetness..........I had another appointment today and every two weeks from now on. I got an ultra sound and little baby 'A' here was relaxing on is back even though he is WAY down there. Sometimes I feel like I'm crushing him if I slouch in the slightest :) But I tell ya...he looked mighty content today; no grudges held. As far as baby 'B', he didn't want to take pictures today. Had his back turned to us the whole time ^_^ But um?...can I tell you all something super embarrassing yet funny as heckarooni? Ok...

So like I had to give a urine sample right? I was in the bathroom, got the cup and wrote my name on it. I had a little trouble aiming (big belly in the way n'all)  but I handled my business. I had to like...well...clean up and I didn't really have a good place to put my cup down. So I decided to place it on top of the toilet dispenser. And as I got some toilet paper out it fell on the floor and ended up landing right side up! Dude...it may of landed all cool like I meant to do it but the splashing of my own precious golden tinkle all over my face and jacket was not good. Not good at all. Needless to say I was in there an extra 5 mins to clean myself and the floor up. I giggled in shock the whole time. OMGoodness. What a moment.

So yeah...just take it from me and put the cup on the floor if need be. Hope I can be more suave next time eh? Oh, and that reminds me. I have the glucose test next time {groan}....

Cold, gloomy, wet, soggy...did I say gloomy? Today's what I call a noo-noo-nah-nee day. Good news is I'm eating pancakes as I type and watching my Golden Girls. But still...I'm in the mood to be a downer.

I did, however, get tagged for the first time in a long time by my girl Laura who is also pregnant! Only a couple weeks further along than me and looking at her 25 week belly shot made me almost choke on my ice water! She was so small compaired to me and I'm 23 weeks. Man...but I'm not in the mood to post a pic of myself right now. I'm in a funk remember? lol!!!!! So yes she did tag me and here it goes.

Here's Kody's hand wrapped around one of his new loves. The Wii wheel. I actually have many pictures of the kids playing the Wii. Now only if I can muster a page, we would be set :)

new traditions

This picture i love. It is my daughter Chloe'. And it's the first time when I can say any of my kids look like me...at least a little. I had a picture just like this. I found it in my grandmothers drawer. I never took it, no. It was there for a reason I thought. Besides, I was only in elementary when I found it. I was sitting in a studio with a fluffy white dress on. I could have been no more than Chloe's age. What struck me about the photo of me were three things. The way my tongue kind of hung out of my teeth. The dress I was wearing was almost pink. Like it had a pink tint but maybe not. Maybe I just imagined it to be like that. And my thumb glistening on my side. I still suck my thumb to this day. (only when I'm sleepy though I promise:) But the eyes...her eyes...are just like mine. Looking up like that and big. the only difference is that mine are midnight black. Yeah...we definitly have the same eyes. As I got older, though, mine got smaller and smaller. I suppose it has to do with all that laughing I've done over the years. Maybe squinting in the California sun for 18 of those years. hmmm...but yeah, we have the same eyes....

That picture of me and another one of me naked on a couch were the only ones I ever saw of my childhood besides my school day pictures. I do what I do now partly because of that. I don't have a void or anything but I do wonder...what it was like when I was young - through my Moms' eyes. I started "...this ART thing we do." This recording of memories. Something no one else in my family has ever done. I started something new...a tradition. I like the sound of that.

i want to vent...

...today is not so spectacular so far. Now don't get me wrong...I'm thankful for everything. The fact that I have NO GAS IN THE VAN doesn't overshadow the fact that I at least have transportation. But there are times like these when you have NO GAS IN THE VAN and really wish the day had started off differently.

For instance...let's just say that I had been sleeping real well last night. And I woke up to the 7:oo alarm out of a dream that I actually liked for a change. Ok...Ok...let's go even further. Let's say that the dream was about being at my honeymoon that I never had. Got it right? So the alarm goes off. I'm not pissed or anything but I sure wish I was woken up from a different, not-so-wonderful dream. And the fact that I did sleep real well didn't help with the drowsiness of morning time. I'm dragging my legs behind me. I can't see...sight will come about three minuets later. After my vision clears and am in the process of making Kody's school lunch; I realize that I have no sliced cheese. I have blocked cheese. I usually put sliced cheese on Kody's sandwiches. Any other day I run out of sliced cheese I would be the good mommy, take out the shredder and make thin slices from the block cheese. But not today. Mommy was being...well...selfish. So no cheese for him today. Instead I put in extra pepperoni in a Zip Lock for the guy. So then we move on to brushing his teeth & getting him dressed. He took a little too long putting on his left sock so I decided to help him out. Which in translation means that I'm helping myself out. I know...I know...but the clock was ticking and school doesn't wait. So on goes his Spider-Man sweater then his coat. I go to zip it up and um???????? Where is the zipper? IT BROKE OFF IN HIS BACK PACK!!!! Ok...now this was just too good to be true. First the cheese and now this? It was a nice coat...no I take that back...it IS a nice coat. But I thought of how it will be warm soon and he will grow out of it during the summer anyway. And by the time the little guys grow up who knows; we might have internal insulation mechanisms or something. So he wore it open. Lastly, he got his beanie on his head and off we went. Into the rain. Got in the van and movement was a no-go. No gas...no freakin' go. No chugga-chugga-choo-choo. No thinking I can. No if you fail try, try again. Nope...because there was NO GAS IN THE VAN!

Moral of the story? don't be lazy; make the sliced cheese yourself. Karma is a B.
