I must say that school has been pretty smooth so far. The kids are really enjoying it. Kody is super confident. Always wanting to be class helper and show the teacher how smart he is :) Today he told me all about compound words. I was super impressed! But nothing shocked me more when I asked him a question on the fly just for asking sake. I asked him how many pennies would you get if you had 2 nickles. His exact words were "I would have 10 pennies. Because there are 5 pennies in a nickle and one nickle + another nickle equals 10 pennies." My mouth dropped like whoa. I wanted to look inside his ear to see if Einstein took up shop in his head somewhere. And not just what he said for his answer but the way he said it. I would've been happy with "ten" but hey...I'm not raining on his genius parade lol!!!! So Yeah, the girls have their share of puzzles to figure out. And everyday before class begins the teacher has a question for them to answer yes or no to. Stuff like Do you think it will rain today? Or are you wearing the color orange? Cute stuff. And they get all exited to answer the morning question of the but day. Love it.

I had my camera out last Wednesday morning because it was picture day! I gathered them up in the backyard and they immediately huddle around the tree right? lol!

 

It's nice having them all in school together. They have so much more to talk about with one another now. Like it's not always about food or games anymore. You guys know what I mean lol!!!!

On another note. I can finally say that I'm an avid at handling my new cell phone. It took me a day and I have everything set up and all that jazz. Navigating the web was the toughest part to get down but now it's cake walk. It's funny too because I had taken my old phone into Verizon and I'm talking to the sales rep. & showed him my old phone. I let him know that it was the third time that the battery was acting up and that the phone only worked when it was plugged up. He was like "Oh wow, yeah..it's time for a real phone" I mean you should of saw his face. Not only did he say the word 'real' as if to imply mine couldn't possibly have existed in this century. But his face...goodness he looked, for a second, like he had seen a ghost. So I said "Pretty dinosaur hu?" ...he most definitely agreed. So I got the LG enV Touch. 

Not my dream iphone and the battery lie is low but it's doing what I always wanted a phone to do. Nothing too fancy, although I do love how the icons look like postage stamps! It's a far better phone than this one I had lol!

And I'm so not dissing my old phone. It did it's job but the whole three alphas assigned to a number was super not cool for me. Needless to say texting wasn't an enjoyable way to pass my time. Besides, with having the 5 children on the road + out n' about then having a husband who can work up to 10 hours a day even on Saterdays? Yeah, I needed a more reliable phone.

Well, I better take my shower. I'm actually exited about it. It was one of those Fridays were you are all over the place and can't wait to relax. Man...I'm exited all right...

So what has been going on here lately... of course hanging out with the little guys and Kody is now officially a Boy Scout! Can I say exited???? He is over the moon. He gives me the salute and tells me he is going to get so many badges that he won't know what to do with himself :) I'm glad he and his dad can use this time to bond. He takes him to all his meetings and such. DerRick was a Boy Scout when he was little so they can have this just for them.

Other news, Chris has been wheezy for the past month now. I was just thinking it would go away but no. He went to see a lung specialist today and what he found was the he had two things: ...ok...now that I'm trying to think of the medical names for them I'm at a loss. O man...well, I forgot the names but basically his voice box and his trachea do not have enough cartilage around them to support his breathing like normal. Like ok, I almost had a heart attack when he told me the x-rays were "almost" normal. I was seriously going to tell DerRick to stay behind in case I fell. I was so scared. But the doctor took great care in explaining all the details of what was happening with Chris. He even showed us the x-rays. His conditions are something he should grow out of by about 1 year or before. He will go in for a bronchoscopy next month just to be sure there isn't anything overlooked. All in all my little guy will be fine. I mean hello???

So yeah. Don't kids say the darndest things? And Kody always seems to remind me of that fact too ^_^ He came in the kitchen to tell me this one thing. And I must say it took all my worries away for a while...

...like seriously? What in the WORLD was I suppose to say to that? First I had to have a talk with him about the 'F' word. and now this? I was seriously laughing to myself thinking this is going to be one interesting journey with this little guy.

Kody's last day

This is Kody and his teacher embracing each other for the last time. He was the only one of his classmates who cried. He was SO sad. I couldn't hold back my tears either. I mean hello? All he kept saying was "Why do I have to leave this school? I wish it were the first day of school again..." I told him I understood. Got him by the chin and told him that it was going to be alright. I promised him that. It made him feel a bit better but it wasn't until he and the girls took a bath with water guns that he started to forget about his last day. And that bath was much needed...

 

I had so many pics but I didn't want parents suing me because their kids are on the www lol! I can't crop my photos lately so yeah...Speaking of water though...I just signed Kody up for swimming lessons! He Starts Monday. So yeah...I think this whole experience should be a doozy.

Other than that this is what has been going on and what will pop off soon (so that I don't forget of course)

• After asking for directions to the front desk Kody waves to the lady and says "Thank you for the information."
• I had to go back home and get a check becuase the Civic Center doesn't accept cards. {sigh}
  
• Kody got schooled on how to make a basket in basketball...super cute
• Kennedy mooned me today and says "Shakin' my booty butt!!!"
• Made my first appointment ever for a pedicure tomorrow. 
• Ordered a double cheeseburger, Mc.Flurry and cheese on the Big N' Tasty with my meal from McDonalds. Got none of it. {arg}
• Ordered a strawberry shake from Hardees and got pink water back. I had them make it again. {grrr}
• Have to take back Kody's sandals. Too small. Ooops...my bad :)
• Have to take back shirts that I thought were Onesies. I got too exited I guess and just plucked whatever looked white and had buttons off the shelf.
• Have to sign the kids up for the summer reading program at the public library.
• Have to get Audrey a birthday present before tomorrow nights party. 
• Have to take back both car seats. Not compatible with the tandem stroller we got. {groan}
• Have a doctor appt. Tuesday.
• And like I was saying earlier; I can't crop in Photoshop. The "not enough scratch disk space" message pops up again. Really looking into investing in an external hard drive.

this and thats + a scare

Ok...it was 3am last night and I had a contraction that hurt like a mug! Then no more than 3 mins after another one. Then the same thing again, I had ANOTHER one! I tried turning over to alieviate it but it ran it's course. So like I'm wide awake and silently panicking. DerRick was asleep in the living room on the couch (were he has been sleeping for the last 2 months or so) and I just had to wake him up. I let him know that my OB told me to call when there were four within an hour. I had three. I was like oh heck-ee-nah. He was all about calling but I decided to go to the bathroom first. We don't need to talk about the event's that took place in there but lets just say if any of you were at my house I would have said "wait about 30 to 45 minuets." lol.....Ok....so yeah, I decided then to go back to the bedroom. I checked the clock and it was 3:19. I could NOT go to sleep. I was feeling a bit achy, the boys were moving like crazy and I couldn't get my mind to stop racing. I thought of all the things we still needed to get. How many thing were being shipped, the NICU......

Oh it was awful. So I was up. Eyes wide open in the semi darkness thinking this could NOT be happening. I'm a pro right? Then I had one last contraction, it hurt and I checked the clock. It was 4:39. I was relieved that it wasn't in that crucial hour but I was seriously needing, wanting to go to sleep. So after a while, without any more braxton hicks and no clue of the time, I feel asleep. I had a doc appt. this morning and the monitor showed no out of place activity. I was talking with the doc about being more thirsty than usual lately. Also I went to get new glasses and shades at LensCrafters at around 6:30. I parked on the total opposite side of the mall and had to walk a marathon to get there. Don't get me wrong, I was walking slower than a mummy with hemorrhoids but still it was super far to get there. And I found it odd that store owners were looking at me walk by like "Don't come to my store...I'm not trying to deliver any babies on the floor tonight!" Truly. It was the funniest thing. but yeah...where were we?

Oh yeah, the long walk and thirstiness. So yes, the doc said that is probably what caused it. I was reminded to call if the four contractions in an hour happens or any other major craziness goes down and was sent home. Needless to say, I'm packing my bag tonight! I mean dude....

So in other news. Kody has only two more days left of school! Got a letter in his folder last Friday saying they are having a water party with pizza. Well, when I picked Kody up today he says to me "Um? Mom? Tomorrow you HAVE to send in the money for the party. Mrs.Ellis said so. So you HAVE to send it in tomorrow ok? It's for the party. So tomorrow send in the money tomorrow okay?..." I was like "whoa little man, gotcha loud and clear. Money tomorrow - check!"  But to myself I was thinking how I was loosing my swagga. I mean I'm never late on things like permission slips and tuitions for this and that's. Yet this time I had forgot that the paper said it was to be turned in no later than Tuesday. It's all good. I still have tomorrow ^_^

30 weeks

I'm still truckin' along. I was anticipating this week. You know the big 3-0 :) About now everything is pretty chill. I still try and stay away from too much walking and standing. I'm retaining a little bit of water in my feet. Ok...ok...so they do look like chocolate marshmallows but hey, it comes with the territory. I'm sleeping good as long as I take my daily nap in the DAY! I took one later on towards the evening and it was not cool trying to sleep that night. But I do find myself taking about a two hour nap every single day. Can't seem to keep these eyes open. And I'm cussing like a sailor these days. It's outrageous!

DerRick insists that I won't make it 2 more months. I try to tell him I'm a pro but he sincerely thinks the doctors are a month off lol!. See when I take my pictures I don't show you my back. If I did you might be inclined to shut your computers down and run for the hills. I'm a big one indeed. But the arm around the tummy like that and all makes it look less...less...painful

So yeah...Last Friday Kody went on a field trip the the Knoxville Zoo! I took these pictures before he left.

 

Ok...so I obviously was obsessed with his shirt or something because I did not focus on his face one bit lol! I still love the them though. He better be glad he's so cute because he woke me up 30 mins before it was time. Now you know how us moms adore our sleep. He comes in and says only two words "I'm exited!" I was like what? Dude....But I understand. It was zoo day and it was going to be a very good day. When he came home I asked him what his favorite animal was too see at the zoo. He told me the zebras. I was like "oh cool!" And I asked him why. He said because they had a lot of spots and their spots were blue.

...........

um??? Yeah. Well, after i paused and looked at him like he was nuts-oids he went on to tell me that he meant his favorites were the giraffs. But still, I never got to the bottom of the blue spots.

Me:"Honey, my feet are so swollen." {got the whole whinny voice going on}

DerRick: "Yeah, that's what happens when you're pregnant hon"

Me: "My feet look like chocolate marshmallows."

DerRick: "Oh they do do they?"

Me: "Yep and my hands look like half of a breakfast plate."

DerRick: "What's the other half?"

Me: "The eggs and pancakes."

DeRick: "So what are your hands?"

Me: "The sausages."

DerRick: "Oh..."

Me: "And my stomach looks like an over sized Milk Dud"

DerRick: "Well, you're a breakfast and a snack aren't you?"

Me: "Yep and I'm mighty tasty "

This little dude is getting big! He's about to turn 8 and he's something else. However just recently he had the fear of God put in him and I have never laughed so hard in my entire life.

My sister calls me and tells me that I'm about not to have a nephew anymore. She was obviously frustrated and upset. She quickly got off the phone without telling me what the heck was going on. The next day I call and she told me that everything was perfectly fine in an a-matter-of-fact tone of voice. And then she went on to tell me the story.

:: Chapter 1::

Jayden: Mom, I'm hungry. Can I have some fish crackers?

Krystal: "Sure baby let me pour some in a bowl for you and I'll be right there"

Jayden: "I don't want to eat out of a bowl. I want to eat out of the bag."

Krystal: "Um no. That wouldn't be a good idea because then you will end up eating the whole bag. If you eat all the crackers from this bowl then I will pour you some more."

Jayden: "I don't want to eat out of a bowl."

Krystal: "Jayden, this is my house and these are my rules. If I say you will eat out of a bowl then you will eat out of a bowl."

Jayden: "I don't see daddy eating them out of a bowl."

Krystal: "Oh really? I didn't know that. And seeing that this is not his house I will let him know to eat out of a bowl also."

Jayden: "He's an adult and I thought adults knew better."

Krystal: "Jayden, that's it. Eat out of this bowl or have no crackers at all."

Jayden: "FINE!" {and he slams his bedroom door behind him}

:: Chapter 2 ::

{a little while later}

Krystal: "Jayden baby, go get your suitcase and pack only the things you want. I'll pack what you need"

Jayden: "Ok...can I pack my football?"

Krystal: "Sure. Make sure you get everything you really want and put them in the suitcase."

Jayden: "Can I take my Wii?"

Krystal: "No baby. I don't thing there'll be any TV where you're going."

Jayden: "Where are we going?"

Krystal: "Oh you'll see when we get there. Is that all?"

Jayden: "Yep."

Krystal: "Alright then lets get in the car and go"

{Krystal takes Jayden to El Cajon Blv. Stops at a street corner and then tells Jayden to get out and bring his suitcase. She walks him over to a homeless man and the story continues...}

Krystal: "Would you like to take care of my son?" {speaking to the homeless man}

Jayden: "What?"

Krystal: "Get in the care baby."

{freaked, he gets in the car and she drives a bit more before stopping at another street corner}

Krystal: "Get out of the car and bring your suitcase."

{Jayden says nothing and does what he is told}

Krystal: "Excuse me sir, would you like to take my son?"

{Jayden lost it at this point. Pulling on his moms arms he is pleading and the story continues...}

Jayden: "Mommy no! Mommy I want to be with you. I want to go home!......"

{Krystal bends down to Jayden's level and looks him in his face}

Krystal: "Don't ever argue with me like that again. You show me respect. The next time you disrespect me like that then you will go away."

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............dude................that's the way we do it in Cali. Put the fear in 'em. lol....... O man. I was no good on the phone after she told me that. I had to retire for an hour and regain my composure. My eyes watered and my cheeks were so sore; I laughed so hard. I tell you what though...it can be hard raising kids.It IS a challenge of course. He is her only child and she is a single mom and She's the best mom I know :) She is determined to have him stay strait and not ever fall into those kind of habits. You can learn a lot from the kids at school but don't even think about bringing it home. Stay good, be good and live good. Stay on the right path.

So...Jayden learned his lesson all right. She told me he was an angel as of late. Yeah, I bet lol! But he does have a little advantage not having siblings. When you have sibling it can get ugly lol! Just check this post out

the last step

So I finally made the call to get a referral for Kody to see an allergy specialist. I know it's going to be a long process but It's gotta go down :) Honestly my blog has been one of the main ways I can ease the stress over the whole situation. That's why pretty much every post has at least one paragraph dedicated to Kody and his battle with allergies. Thanks for putting up with me but um? There will be more coming lol!!!! I created a page here

I got down how I felt so far. I know I will have a whole other chapter when his testing begins or whatever they do ^_^ Today he had something to say

Kody: "Hey mom, want to hear a poem I made up?"

Me: "Of course I would! Let's hear it."

Kody: "Roses are red, violets are blue, graduation is almost here, and I love you."

Then I swooned over him for some seconds, kissed him and thanked him for such a lovely and original poem ^_^

Well, last night Kody's eyes got puffier and puffier.

He scratched them a lot and his nose was all stuffy and runny. He seemed to be getting worse as it got later. I felt so incredibly bad  So I got him some medicine and am crossing my fingers. I know for a fact it's allergies and on Monday he is going to the clinic!

On a more crafty note...Essence and I Skyped last night after the kids were in bed. There was much needed laughs let me tell ya. And satisfyingly, I got a page done :) I was playing around with making some paper and the test ended up being a full blown page lol!

Gone Fishing

This was the funniest thing...The kids pretended they were going fishing. They all tore off long branches from a weeping willow tree and began to 'fish' in this ditch full of foliage. So I say "Chloe...you caught a fish!!! Reel it in!" And so she starts pulling and twisting. Kody and Kennedy were cheering her on and finally I say "Oh my goodness...you caught a gold fish!" She was all exited :) Then it was Kody's turn and he ended up catching a cat fish. And when Kennedy reeled in the stingray...well we took off like the wind! Yelling all the way back home Ha hAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....it was really too funny ^_^

Oh man...so I'm about to be out. I really need to make some breakfast. Just thought I would stop in real quick!
