Thanks for all of the tips! So helpful! Can't wait to see the calendar!
And for your question, publishing isn't high on my list of priorities. I did get some cards published a long time ago, but don't think about sending anything these days! I would enjoy this hobby whether other people appreciate my work or not.

for me, the idea of being published is slightly terrifying... but a great challenge too. I'd try for sure.
super cute pics

I think being published would be great. I haven't gotten up the "nerve" to try - yet. Someday though...
Cute pictures.

Hi Karla - I would LOVE to be published someday....someday.... Just have to get the nerve up!
Would love to win the calendar too!
And, just so you know - the video isn't really working....it keeps starting and then getting about 30 seconds in and repeating. :( Would really love to see it though!

Oh NO!!! I was able to view it but it took time to buffer but I was able to see it ok. I'm afraid I don't have a backup. Try it again and if it doesn't work then please email me and I will work with you honey ^_^

I would love to be published.
I had work accepted for a magazine, a local South African publication and the month before my creations were to be published the magazine went bankrupt.
While that isn't the reason I scrapbook, some recognition would be welcome.

got it to work today - thank you!!! Silly question....but can you make your shadow on a different layer in PSE????
Posted by: Amelia | October 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM
I would think so. I think that technique is universal throughout all versions of photoshop. Again what you would do is apply you drop shadow as normal. Then under your layer it will list the effects you applied. Which in your case it would say EFFECTS and under that would be DROP SHADOW. Click on the SHADOW sub layer while holding down COMMAND (for Mac) or ALT for (pc) When the drop down menu appears, click CREATE LAYER. Let me know if this works for you. If not I will help you out honey!

UR boys are SO adorable! I don't know how you do it all!
Yes, been published. One card last year in Simply Handmade Magazine, and it was in a two page spread, lol. I've tried submitting layouts with no luck though.
Hugs, Carla with a "c"

Congrats on the publication! I know sometimes it can be hit and miss but if submitting is something you love then keep at it. I know when I was published my kids thought they were "famous!" ^_^

Your welcome!
Posted by: Karla Dudley | October 24, 2010 at 11:22 AM
I know what you mean. I believe is submitting but I also believe it shouldn't become a habit and you're ok with the ups and downs. If you good in that respect then yes, it's a cool thing and it is nice to be recognized every once in a while ^_^
